Letters written to Pratt and copies of letters by him; notes; articles; and photographs, relating to his researches into the history of wireless and radio; his early work in radio; and his activities while chairman of the History Committee of the Institute of Radio Engineers and its successor, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Included also: a small amount of data on the Federal Telegraph Company and material he gathered relating to the history of radio, including articles, patents, reports and advertisements from various companies, etc.

The Federal Telegraph Company was created in 1910, the same year it built its pioneering transmission tower on San Francisco's Ocean Beach. During this period, FTC was also pioneering in the manufacturing of electronic equipment for wireless transmitting as well as developing a commercial arm.
